A prettier location can hardly be found for a ford such as this. We have just crossed the old bridge here over Oare Water and now we follow the wooded Doone Valley. (PiP) Enjoy full screen.

Crue du LOIR. A 40 km au nord de sa grande sœur La Loire, Le Loir est un paradis discret haut en couleurs. Cette rivière particulièrement douce et attachante déroule naturellement ses méandres et donne à cette vallée à dimension humaine, un climat un peu plus doux, avec une pluviométrie moindre et un ensoleillement un peu plus long que les régions alentours.

The stone forest nearby Monodendri is one of the most remarkablke places in Greece. Layers of natural rock formations shaped like trees at an altitude of 1.500 meters. Geomorphs that resulted from the disintregation and erosion of limestone in an alpine environment, located in a normal forest of oaks and maples. It took thousands and thousands of years to cause this erosion and disintregation of the slabs. Nowadays these towering limestone formations create a real natural ‘artwork’.
