Il ne faut jamais remettre au lendemain ce que l’on peut faire le jour même. On risque de belles déconvenues. Hier, après quasiment 40 ans d’absence, je suis retourné dans le village et surtout dans la forêt, à la limite de la région parisienne, où j’ai passé l’essentiel de mon enfance. Déception. Cette forêt que je jugeait indestructible, éternelle, a été massacrée par l’Office national des Forêts (ONF), au nom de la « g estion des forêts publiques ». Heureusement que dans ses missions cet organisme est chargé de « préserver l’environnement ».

I have been growing orchids for nearly 35 years, longer than I've been hunting and photographing native orchids. I've grown them outdoors, in a small greenhouse and on windowsills, but mostly in a homemade wardian case or orchidarium. One of the places I often visit to take photos is Manor Park (Larchmont, New York).
