The Pond I normally MOW 9th May 2015 ~ Oklahoma drowning

The Pond I normally MOW 9th May 2015 ~ Oklahoma drowning
That picture is the Pond I normally MOW.

Now.. in the centre .. it is at least 10 feet deep . The pond will eventually be dry again.

The craters and underflow rip outs that are going on right now with this flooding on my land, cant be seen . The fabric of the land wont repair itself where the flood has ripped out land.

There is undermining everywhere where underflows are that didnt exist , ripped the land out.,, alot of damage on the South boundary. We also have quicksand in places.

It very hard to describe what is happening here. Just imagine a tidal wave you cant see cept maybe the top foot of it.. the rest is underground. Imagine how it takes the land away.

All the 30 year records are a bust.. they are talking about once in 100 years right now.

We are on sandstone... and have had so many years of extreme drought. In many ways.. we are lucky as our Home is dry and safe... but this... just rips my heart out ... all the work I have put into this place. Right now.. I cant even let my dogs play in the Pond because of the holes in the land.

Mother Nature isnt happy. The irony is some parts of the State are still in deep drought.

There is more severe weather to come this next week too

EXPLORED !

I have never heard of anyone mowing ponds before!
Joking aside, this is an excellent photo and a sad tale, Pam.
Weather records seem to broken every year nowadays: It can't all be down to 'global warming'.

Thankyou Neil !

Yes... this is mowed normally... bone dry.

Changing weather patterns are climate change.. add ancient cycles too.. and this is the New World Climate....and it will get worse before it stabilises.

I keep thinking of you every time I see the news. Oklahoma has been all over local and national reports I've seen here, either because of the tornadoes or this flooding. It's hard to watch this happening, but I'm glad you're safe. I'll be hoping for the best.

Oh dear Pam how dreadful for you. We've had some rain, but absolutely nothing like this - I know further up north of the UK have had bad flooding, but we in the South West have been spared. I do hope it won't be too destructive, especially if there is more bad weather on its way to you. Just take it safely and I hope the dogs will be free to go out soon.

I have had to deal with floods a few times and boy oh boy the devastation is so horrible.. and for years to come! You know I wish only the best for you my friend!

Sad you are experiencing such destruction to your land. Is the cause due to extreme heavy rainfall saturating the land ??????????. Here in Ireland a few years ago flooding was so bad land did not dry for 2/3 years Putting many farmers in jeopardy financially. .
Lovely image here Well done Pam Regards Tess.
Pam J club has replied to Treasa Ui Cionaodha
Thankyou Tess.

After so many years of drought the land cant take deluges . Here in this area.. about 9 years of deep drought.. and this where I am is sandstone ridges.. and sand rivers.

Now... this rain extreme....Irony is.. some parts of the state havent had a drop... and we will probably be on Burn Bans by August in 110F !

It sounds as if the weather there is similar to here, Pam: either droughts or floods. Seems we're in for a large El Nino - rain on your side of the Pacific and drought here next summer.

The pond is now 10 feet deep.. the water has nowhere to go.

After nine years of drought weaken the land...the deluges have ripped it apart. I have lost alot including major trees. Just thankful the house is ok. Have months of repair work on the land.
