When I was a kid I used to spend two weeks of my summer holidays at a small village at the Baltic sea coast. There were beautiful golden sand beaches there. But I always preferred another place (several kilometers to the east) where I could find treasure troves of colorful stones like that. Every summer I tried to smuggle some of them into our luggage and bring them home. Every summer I negotiated with my Dad who'd eventually let me choose three of them provided it was me who actually carried them in my knapsack on our way back home (no family car then ment 12-hours journey by bus and train but I didn't mind that). Many years later I revisited the place with my daughter. Fortunately she was not that interested in collecting stones so I took some photos instead. ----- Olympus C-220Z Taken 20 years ago with my first digital camera.

My Mom's favorite yellow lilies are blooming just now. Unfortunately Mom cannot see them in person - she is too weak to leave her floor, go downstairs and out into the garden. So I'll be taking photos of these beauties and showing them to her. ----- Asus Zenfone

I found her squatting in my boiler room this afternoon. I wish I could let her stay. She is so gentle, so beautiful. But it would not be wise to introduce her to a pack of three guinea pigs and a dog ruling my house. - - - - - Asus Zenfone (very poor quality, sorry, but that's all what I could do)

Another specimen from my late Dad's 'collection' - hibiskus blooming every year with multiple gorgeous hot red flowers. It stopped blooming after Dad had passed away. I care for it. It looks healthy and has beautiful green leaves but not a single flower since that time. ----- Olympus C-8080WZ

Plants and flowers in my garden have such a surprisingly ability to survive harsh conditions and (eventually) my neglect. Those that I care for do not cooperate. Those that I stop to trim and feed reappear after a year or two and are calling: "look how beautiful we are without you!" ----- Asus Zenfone
