The Monument to the Victims of Communist Terror 1944-1956 is located in the churchyard of the church of St Catherine, on the site where, from 1945 to 1947, the Ministry of Public Security clandestinely buried up to 2000 victims of political murders carried out at Mokotów Prison. The aerosol that forms around the towers is used both for prevention and treatment of diseases of the upper respiratory tract, thyroid gland diseases, or allergic skin disorders.
