Hellenistic Greek Glass Bowl in the Metropolitan Museum of Art, February 2010

[One of] Two Glass Bowls
Greek, Eastern Mediterranean, cast, mid-1st century BC
Accession #s 81.10.129, 17.194.560
One of these small bowls is in a dark, monochrome glass; the other is made of network mosaic canes, which are only found in Hellenistic glassware. Both find their closest parallels among the glass vessels recovered from the Antikythera shipwreck off the south coast of Greece, dated to about 70-60 BC.
