I do that sometimes as well Isabel........I have a wooden one with a fitting to put a camera on ( like a monopod), but I find using a mat to kneel on and a bean bag for the camera is much easier.

The bean or seeds bag is a trick I also use, but if hiking I don’t carry one, I try to reduce weight more and more…

I only take the bare minimum if I'm hiking.........more if I'm using my car! It never used to be..........but weight is an important consideration for me nowadays!
