The birds seem to just be flocking to me this week lol
It was a dreary day here on the 1st of September, and a reminder that summer is on its way out. A nice surprise down at the pond recently though. This Great Blue Heron spent a long time preening atop the log we call "The Croc" that goes up and down depending on the pond level and looks like a crocodile in its reflection.
(Try it on black)
My husband told me I'd never be able to get a pic so of course that set the challenge for me lol. I shot this from inside our house about 500 feet or 152 meters away with my trusty FZ1000 on my tripod. It's not the best pic, but these birds, when wild and unaccustomed to people, are so sensitive to movement that they will fly off very easily. (I also uploaded a video.)

Mick reminded me recently of this movie that I just fell in love with back in 1976 (thanks, Mick :)
I think I saw it in the theater at least 4 times (back when theaters were big and beautiful. Remember that?) I thought Barbra Streisand and Kris Kristofferson had such great chemistry on screen and I loved the soundtrack (love her so much.) I have no idea if I would like the movie now. I probably should watch it again.
That leads me to my song choice for which I will pair this "ever green" image. I'm not quite sure what I did to get this shot, but I kinda like it. It is of a maple tree.
