This week in SSC:
"Take a picture of a permanent architectural detail INSIDE your home."
We live in a very rustic log home that my husband built over 30 years ago before we met. This is one of two vertical logs in the TV room that supports the horizontal ridgepole that holds up the roof. The house was his own design and he chose each tree from a local forest for the logs. I usually wind up looking at this log and thinking it's pretty cool as I watch TV. It's one of my favorite details of this part of the house.

I guess a lot of guys have a dream of building a log cabin but not many get the chance to do it.

I've loved this interior image of yours from the first glance.
So not only beautiful in itself, but a portrait of a house, elegant in its conception, but also so comfortably, intimately and warmly lived.
My best compliments to your husband and to You who have been able to represent it in such a suggestive and evocative way.
Karen's Place club has replied to Beatrice Degan(MARS) clubA very nice picture, made special by the table lamp, but mor particularly by the knowledge that your husband built it so long ago, and so carefully that is still stands today! Great respect to the gentleman!
Best Wishes, and stay safe!!
