Javali Africano
The common phacocerus (scientific name: Phacochoerus africanus) is a wild species of suid of the genus Phacochoerus, native to the African continent. It is also called facochero and popularly known as African boar — although it is not actually a wild boar, as it does not belong to the species Sus scrofa — it can be found in pastures, savannas and forests in Africa.
Phacoceros are characterized by the presence of one or two pairs of tusks and in males and by warts on the face - a characteristic that earned them the name warthog in English ("warty pig").
When running, the phacocerus usually keeps its tail raised and erect.
