Magicube

Magicube
A closeup of an old Magicube flash cube. These were made for Instamatic cameras and didn’t require batteries to make them flash. This hasn’t been cropped at all, it’s just that with the 2x tele-converter and the +3 close-up lens, it allows me to get this close to a small object. It turned out grainy due to the expired film and I also noticed that this particular combination of lenses makes for a pretty shallow depth-of-field.

This particular Magicube is a Sylvania Blue Dot Magicube - a classic flash cube brand.

A kind of alchemy, to me, that produces remarkable, unique results.
