Save My Walrus

Save My Walrus
If you've ever watched the cartoon, "Ren and Stimpy," you'll know what the title means.

This will be for The Sunday Challenge group, which I have just recently joined.

Wierd Folkersma, , , have particularly liked this photo

Here's my entry for this weeks theme in The Sunday Challenge group - "a famous or precious souvenir acquired from a past holiday." It is now 12.23 a.m. on Sunday morning as I post this to the group and it features a 6" tall replica of the Empire State Building in New York City. I picked it up when I was there in 1999. The toy truck is the approximate size of a Matchbox or Hot Wheels vehicle.

Other than this, I don't have too many souvenirs of places I've been because I mostly collect post cards. But, I've got my picture up, so I'm good to go.

Ren and Stimpy was a cartoon about a dog and cat who were buddies. In the particular episode I'm referencing, they play fire fighters. They are trying to rescue people out of a tall, burning building when this woman leans out one of the upper windows and says "Save my baby!" she tosses out her baby and they catch it. She proceeds to throw out larger and larger things until she gets to a walrus and she shouts down to them "Save my walrus!" The walrus nearly squishes them when they catch it.

I had an Empire state Building statue like that when I was a kid. We traveled to NYC every summer when I was a teen. Nice photo!

Cool souvenirs and photo Kenneth! I somehow missed Ren and Stimpy growing up, but I did date a gal once who named her dog after Ren.

Oh this is nice ... Love the colors and simplicity here. Good thing for King Kong that they didn't have that firetruck while he was prowling the Empire State Building. lol

This really made me smile with the fire truck being as tall as the Empire State building.
