Christmas 2007
A capture of Christmas in St Mary Street, Bridgwater, from 2007, Managed to catch the postman on his rounds,
The church of St Mary the virgin is the towns oldest building, built in the early English style it is known that the tower was complete in the early 1300s and work to add the spire started in 1367.

It was taken as a slide and converted to a digital image a few years ago and only came to light while I have been having my annual winter image tidy up,

.....oh,diesen Beruf des Postboten hab ich auch 35 Jahre gemacht und war auch mit dem Fahrrad das ganz Jahre heraussen unterwegs,war früher ein sehr schöner Beruf:))

.....das stimmt lieber Roger,die Zeiten haben sich sehr geändert,ich habe diesen Beruf sehr gerne gemacht,aber zum Schluß war man nur mehr eine Nummer,der Mensch zählt einfach immer weniger in der heutigen Zeit,man muss nur mehr funktionieren:))

A delightful town-scape Roger..............with beautiful diffused light and some interesting buildings. The posty on his bike is a nice touch and (as has been pointed out) a rare sight nowadays. You must have been up pretty early to get this one!

Neither really, after early retirement I changed direction entirely and worked on accident recovery mainly for the Police and mostly on the M5 or adjacent main roads. A bit gory at times and very odd hours but it paid really well and was really interesting work.
