Richmond Street

Richmond Street
London, Ontario.

I like the really big view you get by clicking the photo and then clicking the frame at top right of that view. But that's just me.

kiiti, Gudrun, tiabunna, William Sutherland and 7 other people have particularly liked this photo

A great street scene John. I had to look 'curds' up as I was intrigued by the sign.

Have a good evening

Thanks, Carol. I think the four words on the sign have never appeared together before, in any order.

Street-Photography at it’s best, John ! Like such everyday views very much !

Thanks, Ulrich. I like everyday views, too. For one thing, in painting people are often portrayed as symbols or as ciphers. In street photographs, they just walk through being themselves.

That sign makes my arteries clog by association. The couple are interesting - wearing a baseball cap on backwards is mainly for teenagers or photographers, and I thought it had pretty much become old hat for the former. But the kids do liven up a picture that otherwise might have been a tad flat.

I agree, Bob. I had to raise the camera and shoot quickly when they walked by. I then took two more carefully composed shots as they walked on, but this one, in which they are far more prominent, was the best. And then I cropped it to make them even more prominent.

Awesome viewed extra-large.................just like being there and following the people into the scene!

The curd looks disgusting............but I quite like the idea of Fast Food Art :-)

Thanks, Keith, You may have explained what I (unconsciously) like about the view, too. And I'm glad you spotted the fast-food art. This is a crop, and one of the reasons I cropped it was to transform "mart" to "art." Luckily it turned out to be fast-food art.

A great street shot, though I do wonder about the sign suggesting that something like yoghurt should be dropped from the sky.

Thanks, George. Here cheese curd is like squeaky cheese, so it would be really cool to have it dropping from the sky.

What a funny sign!

I agree, Esther, and also think it's a brilliant marketing stroke. The chain it's advertising has mainly been promoting itself through sponsored events. It seems they're off to a good start with advertising, though.

Good photos always are best viewed large- though I'm not so sure about the curd;-))

I apologize for the late reply, Gudrun. Fear not -- cheese curd is good, and good for you.
