This works very well - on all fronts: colour, form, textural variety - and is generally just very pleasing!

Poor hose! We put ours in the garage, where it can get pretty cold as well, but they don't have the indignity of the snow. And I bet these suburbanites didn't drain them either, and will wonder why they leak when used in the spring. End of harangue.

As a photo? An interrupted life - something meant to be done, better done, but left undone because. Someone went in hospital, or died, thinking of all the things left undone. Okay, I felt a sadness seeing this, and I've given you two reasons why. But I'm also seeing hoses as hoses, not as curves and shapes and tangles - please excuse..

Well, hoses are hoses, Bob, so that's entirely reasonable. It's also interesting that interpretation may depend on how the photo is apprehended. Maybe an issue here is that I haven't been very photographic -- composition is minimal, for example.

Hibernating serpents.
(For once I'm seeing something Bob doesn't.)
Plus, I'm a sucker for turquoise.

There's a frightening thought, Diana. Although I suppose it would be fun watching them trying to slither over ice.
