Green River UT fire department (1794)

Green River UT fire department (1794)
The town seems fairly poor, so I wasn't sure but maybe the fire truck on the right is still used in responses to fires...

Green River has always struck me as a dead place. I have a friend who grew up in Utah and used to drive past Green River a lot in childhood and youth, and he says the town was a lot more vibrant 20 or 30 years ago, or at least that's how he remembers it.

The first time I went through there, you still had to go around the mountains on US 6 instead of through them on I-70. The additional time that required made it a good stopping point.

I don't know if it had much impact, but also the D&RGW was a famous passenger rail route that went through there for the trip between Salt Lake and Denver, but all of that got rerouted through Cheyenne many years ago.
