Tule Lake (Japanese) Segregation Center (0974)

Tule Lake (Japanese) Segregation Center (0974)
The Tulelake Museum, in the town of Tulelake, CA. When I first visited in 2006 the museum was completely the work of the town and yet it was an exceptionally well done exhibit on the Tule Lake Segregation (internment) Center. In 2008 a presidential proclamation created the Tule Lake Segregation Center National Monument which is operated by Lava Beds National Monument. While there wasn't much in the way of physical changes in what you could see, the inclusion of the Tule Lake unit with the National Park Service resulted in higher quality literature, all of which is very balanced in terms of addressing the justice issues.
