Isle of Wight - July 2017

Tuesday 4 July 2017 (1800) – Go-South Coast (Southern Vectis) 1614 (HJ16 HSD), an Alexander Dennis (ADL) Enviro400 new in April 2016, seen in Newport bus station loading for East Cowes on service 5. We had just travelled on this bus from Yarmouth on service 7.

Tuesday 4 July 2017 (1723) – Go-South Coast (Southern Vectis) 1614 (HJ16 HSD), an Alexander Dennis (ADL) Enviro400 new in April 2016, seen in Yarmouth bus station loading for Newport on service 7. We travelled on this bus to Newport. Upon arrival at Newport the bus went on to work service 5 to East Cowes, we went on to a service 3 for Ventnor.

Tuesday 4 July 2017 (1245) – Go-South Coast (Southern Vectis) 1105 (HW56 ARU) carries a rear panel advert of the ‘Needles Landmark Attraction’ where the bus was seen. This commercial attraction is popular with families and holidaymakers is located close to Alum Bay and the famous Needles rocks which protrude from the sea by the headland on the south western tip of the Isle of Wight. The photograph on the panel features the rocks and the lighthouse. 1105, a Scania OmniCity N230UD new in September 2008, had just arrived on the 1145 service 7 from Newport and would return at 1255.

Tuesday 4 July 2017 (1058) – Go-South Coast (Southern Vectis) 1143 (HW09 BBV), a Scania OmniCity N230UD new in March 2009, seen in Albert Street, Ventnor when working the 0945 service 3 from Ryde to Newport.

Tuesday 4 July 2017 (1801) – Go-South Coast (Southern Vectis) Alexander Dennis (ADL) Enviros seen in Newport bus station, Isle of Wight. The single decker is an Enviro200 and the double deckers are Enviro400s. 1589 (HW63 FHL) was coming forward to the loading stand to work the 1805 service 3 to Ryde on which we travelled to Ventnor.

Tuesday 4 July 2017 (1256) – A Go-South Coast (Southern Vectis) ‘Needles Breezer’ bus stop. The summer only open top service runs as a clockwise circular every 30 minutes starting in Yarmouth travelling via Freshwater Bay to the Needles headland and back to Yarmouth via Totland. The full circuit takes 57 minutes and the service is worked with two buses.

The circular (clockwise only) service runs every 30 minutes starting in Yarmouth travelling via Freshwater Bay to the Needles headland and back to Yarmouth via Totland. The full circuit takes 57 minutes and the service is worked with two buses. 1992 is a Plaxton President bodied Volvo B7TL new in September 2002 registered HW52 EPL. The second bus on the service today was 1991 (WDL 691) originally HW52 EPK. The colourful rock of Alum Bay can be seen beyond the bus.

The full circuit takes 57 minutes and the service is worked with two buses. 1992 is a Plaxton President bodied Volvo B7TL new in September 2002 registered HW52 EPL. The second bus on the service today was 1991 (WDL 691) originally HW52 EPK. The colourful rock of Alum Bay can be seen beyond the waiting passengers.
