Mil-Ken Travel takes its name from John MIller based in Kentford near Bury St. Edmunds. Over the years the business has expanded with the acquisition of Storey's Coaches of Littleport and Neal's Coaches of Isleham. (The latter name is still used and my photos of same have their own album).

Tuesday 31 December 1991 (1400) – Seen in High Street, Mildenhall when working the 1315 Newmarket to Lakenheath Tuesdays only service 203 is VWL 817, a Plaxton Paramount 3200 bodied DAF operated by John Miller (Mil-Ken) Travel of Kentford. Tuesday was market day in Newmarket and the service was supported by Suffolk County Council.

Sunday 22 September 1991 – Mil-Ken Travel ECK 202Y, a Plaxton Paramount 3200 bodied Bedford YNT which was new to Robinson, Great Harwood in August 1983, seen heading westbound on the A11 at Barton Mills. Following is Empress of London LJI 8025, a Volvo B10M with the later style Plaxton Paramount bodywork (3500 model). It was new in March 1989 registered F718 SML. The old Dog and Partridge, now a private residence named Trego House, can be seen on the old road on the left behind the recently harvested straw bales.

It had also carried registrations 600 JOT and JFL 807Y before JAZ 6917. Right: West Row Coach Services TND 418X, a Plaxton Supreme bodied DAF MB200 that had been new to Jacksons of Altrincham in May 1982. Jacksons was one of the companies forming part of what became Shearings.

Tuesday 4 May 1999 – Mil-Ken Travel JIL 2189, a Duple 340 bodied DAF SB2300 that had been new to Smiths of Alcester in April 1987 registered D297 XCX, parked at King’s Lynn bus station having worked a shopper’s service from Red Lodge via Mildenhall, Lakenheath etc. Alongside is P760 OCL, a Mercedes-Benz Vario, which had brought shoppers from the area around the village of Docking. I believe it was a voluntary operation by the Docking Community.
