East Yorkshire/Primrose Valley 638 (VDV 138S) in Scarborough – 11 Aug 1994 (236-4)

Thursday 11 August 1994 – East Yorkshire Motor Services is the larger operator in the Scarborough area and in addition to its main fleetname it also uses the Scarborough and District name as well as the Primrose Valley Coaches name.

The Primrose Valley Coaches business which operated local services around Filey, notably to the holiday centres and caravan sites around the resort, was acquired by EYMS that continued to use the name for some time.

Eastern Coachworks bodied Bristol VR 638 (VDV 138S) which had been new to Western National/Devon General in November 1977 was parked at Westwood, Scarborough. It was a convertible open top model which can be detected by the ‘join line’ running right around the bus below the upper deck windows.
