Yorkshire Buses 128 (HED 205V) and Yorkshire Rider 5178 (G178 JYG) in Huddersfield – 12 Oct 1995 (291-17)

Thursday 12 October 1995 – Surrounded by Huddersfield’s grandeur, two buses held at the traffic lights awaiting the green light.
Left is Yorkshire Buses (West Riding Group) 128 (HED 205V), a Leyland National 2 new to Halton Borough Transport (27) in March 1980.
Right is Yorkshire Rider 5178 (G178 JYG), a Northern Counties bodied Leyland Olympian new in February 1990.
The imposing frontage of Huddersfield Railway Station, which has been praised by many eminent writers, was built in the neo-classical style opened in 1850 by the London and North Western Railway. It is Grade 1 listed. On the right is the George Hotel opened around one year later which is Grade 2 listed and built in the Italianate style.
