Wessex of Bristol 206 (CIW 9721 ex CDG 206Y) at Grantham - 22 Oct 1989

Sunday 22 October 1989 – On a rather damp morning Wessex of Bristol 206 (CIW 9721) rolls up to the departure stand in Grantham bus station when working the 0825 National Express service 351 from Sheffield to Cambridge (arrival 1240).

After a two hour break in Cambridge the same driver would then work the 1440 service 747 from Cambridge to Bristol (due 2050). The previous day it worked Bristol-Cambridge/Cambridge-Sheffield on the same services.

A Plaxton Paramount 3200 bodied Leyland Tiger TRCTL11/3R new to National Travel (West) Limited in April 1983 as 206 (CDG 206Y). I had had a ride out today travelling from Cambridge to Grantham on a Scottish Citylink coach working the Edinburgh service 377 (then joint with National Express) returning to Cambridge on this coach.
