A lot of old houses are visible in the streets of Vitré. It's one of the few places in France where you can see a complete Gothic town, a glimpse of what a city looked like 500 years ago ...

Il s'élève au cœur de la ville, construits aux alentours du 13° s. Imposant bâtiment aux nombreuses tours (un des châteaux avec le plus de tourelles pointues), de hauts murs et de remparts, il est accessible par un pont-levis entouré de douves. Aujourd'hui il abrite un musée sur l’histoire de Vitré ainsi que l'hôtel de ville.

Le château "troubadour" dans son écrin de verdure, appelé le "château de la Roche-Bagnoles" de style néo-renaissance (1856), c'est l'actuel l'Hôtel de Ville de la commune de Bagnoles-de-l'Orne en Normandie. LE CHATEAU DE LA BELLE AU BOIS DORMANT ----------------------------------------- Le Blackrock Castle Observatory est un superbe château du XVIème siècle près de Cork. Aujourd’hui utilisé comme un centre d’observation d’astronomie, le château fut autrefois bâti pour protéger Cork des assauts pirates. Un château qui vaut vraiment le détour, et qui passionnera tous les amateurs d’étoiles !

Blackrock Castle is a castellated fortification on the banks of the River Lee. Originally developed as a coastal defence fortification in the 16th century to protect upper Cork Harbour, the site now houses an observatory, visitor centre and restaurant.

The Château du Bois Thibault is a ruined castle. In 1423, during the 100 Years' War, it was soon occupied by a company of Scotsmen, fighting on behalf of France, who fortified themselves there, but were overrun by the English. During the French Wars of Religion, the Huguenots damaged the chapel and destroyed the mausoleum. During this time, it gradually fell into a state of disrepair. In 1988, the town of Lassay-les-Châteaux bought the site with the ruins to undertake some repairs. Today guided tours, as well as occasional entertainment, including medieval dinners and scavenger hunts are offered..

Ses origines remontent au XIVe siècle, ensuite il fut transformé en château de style Renaissance après la guerre de 100 ans, en partie entourée de douves, avec un pont-levis, 4 tours au coins de la principale cour et de magnifiques jardins d'eau. Allein inmitten der Wiesen, die einst prächtige Gärten waren, öffnen seine Ruinen der Fantasie die Türen, um eine verschwundene Residenz zu rekonstruieren... Seine Ursprünge gehen auf das 14. Jh. zurück, dann wurde es nach dem 100-jährigem Krieg in ein Schloss im Renaissancestil umgewandelt, teilweise von einem Wassergraben umgeben, mit einer Zugbrücke, 4 Türmen an den Ecken des Haupthofs und herrlichen Wassergärten. Bei Arbeiten im Jahr 1966 wurden zwei Sarkophage entdeckt, von denen einer ein einbalsamiertes Herz enthielt !
