La plage au pied des falaises

Les falaises de Champeaux (jusqu'à 80 m), offrent une grande diversité par la richesse de leur faune et de leur flore. Du haut de ces falaises se dresse un paysage aux vues imprenables sur le Mont Saint-Michel et sa baie. Au pied de ce massif à marée basse, on y trouve le plus grand récif d’hermelles d’Europe, certains pouvant atteindre jusqu’à 1,5 m de hauteur ! Ces colonies de petits vers marins confectionnent sur les roches des tubes d’une trentaine de centimètre constitués de grains de sable et débris de coquilles.

THE BEACH AT THE FOOT OF THE CLIFFS. The cliffs of Champeaux (up to 80 m high), offer a big diversity by the richness of their fauna and flora. From the top of these cliffs, you can enjoy a breathtaking view of the Mont Saint-Michel and its bay. At the foot of this massif at low tide, you can find the largest honeycomb worm reef in Europe, some of which can reach up to 1.5 m in height! These colonies of small marine worms build tubes of about 30 cm on the rocks, made up of grains of sand and shell debris.

DER STRAND AM FUSSE DER KLIPPEN. Die Klippen von Champeaux (bis zu 80 m hoch), bieten eine grosse Vielfalt durch den Reichtum ihrer Fauna und Flora. Vor diesen Klippen erhebt sich eine Landschaft mit atemberaubenden Ausblicken auf den Mont Saint-Michel und seine Bucht. Am Fusse des Massivs befindet sich bei Ebbe das grösste Trichterwurm-Riff Europas, von dem einige bis zu 1,5 m hoch werden können! Diese Kolonien von kleinen Meereswürmern bauen auf den Felsen 30 cm lange Röhren aus Sandkörnern und Schalenresten.
