Five in one go...

The oldest long-distance cycling road event (dating from 1891), a 1200 km bicycle race from Paris to Brest and back to Paris, called PARIS-BREST-PARIS is crossing the village during 4 days: the most recent edition of PBP is running from 18th to 22nd August 2019. The whole village is decorated to welcome and encourage the cyclists (see PiP's).

La plus ancienne épreuve cycliste de longue distance sur route (datant de 1891), une course cycliste de 1200 km de Paris à Brest et retour à Paris, appelée PARIS-BREST-PARIS traverse le village pendant 4 jours : la dernière édition du PBP a lieu du 18 au 22 août 2019. Merci Pascal. Il y a deux ans j'étais au bord de la route pour les encourager, il y en avait qui "tiraient dur"... Il faut le vouloir, pour se poser un tel défi ! Quant à moi, 50 km/jour, c'est le grand maximum - à chacun ses limites ;-))

Eric, the whole village actually participates, nearly each house is decorated and they offer refreshments to the racers as well (which normally aren't accepted as the racers - well, they race and don't stop ;-))

Alltagsradler Teltow

1200 km in vier Tagen ! Dass diese Sportler so übertreiben müssen. Für mich als typischen Alltagsradler sind Fahrten in meinem Wohnort mit typischerweise 10 km für Alltagsbesorgungen schon Abenteuer genug. Nicht nur, aber insbesondere in folgendem Abschnitt:

Ja, jeden Tag 300 km, das sind mehr als Alltagsradler !! Aber sie haben auch ganz schön trainiert und mussten mehrere Zertifikate vorzeigen, bevor sie da mitmachen dürfen. Ich frage mich immer, wie sie das aushalten, "die vier Buchstaben" ;-))

Danke Lothar, bis Brest ja, aber dann müssen sie wieder zurück nach Paris. Der Sieger ist nach nur 2 Tagen (Chrono. 44:47’36”) über das Ziel gefahren, eine Wahnsinnsleistung !! Von den anderen 6673 Teilnehmern (aus 66 verschiedenen Ländern) kamen die letzten gestern abend an, nach 4 Tagen (was für mich auch schon erstaunlich ist...).
