Poppies at Thornton-le-Dale

Poppies at Thornton-le-Dale
These knitted poppies were produced and arranged around the village by the people of Thornton le Dale (also known as Thornton Dale) to commemorate the First World War armistice on 11th November 1918.

Colette NoËl, Tanja - Loughcrew, Ecobird, and 18 other people have particularly liked this photo

Doug what a beautiful tribute this is and an excellent shot with the selective colour that makes it all the more striking. Done with great thought, - it is very moving.

This is only a small part of what the villagers created, unfortunately cars were in the way in many of my shots. Thanks very much for your appreciation Carol.
