Eine stark bedrohte Schönheit - A highly endangered beauty - Großer Feuerfalter (Lycaena dispar)

On a hike yesterday through a mixed beech forest, I found this little butterfly beauty sitting on a grass panicle. The photo shows a female Large copper (Lycaena dispar) clinging to the grass to protect itself from the fairly strong wind. The Large copper butterflies are counted among the blues, which can actually only be understood from the underside, which looks similar to that of blues (see PiP). The Large copper butterfly is becoming rare in many regions of Europe and is therefore listed as critically endangered in Germany's Red List.
