Ein Sturmtief über Aschaffenburg - A stormfront over Aschaffenburg
Bei einem Besuch Aschaffenburgs erlebte ich hautnah, wie das Sturmtief Nasim mit seinen Ausläufern über Aschaffenburg hinweg zog. Sonnenschein, Sturm und Regenschauer wechselten sich ab. Im Bild das Aschaffenburger Schloss Johannisburg, das 1605 bis 1614 unter Kurerzbischof Johann Schweikard von Kronberg direkt am Mainufer errichtet wurde und zu den bedeutendsten Schlossbauten der deutschen Spätrenaissance gehört. Es wurde im 2. Weltkrieg sehr schwer zerstört, aber in der Nachkriegszeit wieder aufgebaut. Das Museum steht seit 1964 für Besichtigungen offen.

During a visit to Aschaffenburg, I experienced at first hand how the storm low Nasim passed over Aschaffenburg. Sunshine, storms and rain showers alternated. The picture shows Aschaffenburg's Johannisburg Palace, which was built between 1605 and 1614 under Elector Archbishop Johann Schweikard von Kronberg directly on the banks of the river Main. It is is one of the most important palace buildings of the German late Renaissance. It was badly damaged during the Second World War and rebuilt in the post-war period. The museum has been open for tours since 1964.
