Memorial to John and Mary Darwin of Chapeltown and Elsecar Ironworks

In the early nineteenth century the Fitzwilliams employed John Darwin an hi family to run their iron works , unfortunately they managed to bankrupt it. Most of their memorials have disappeared in recent years. This one is one of the last to have escaped being turfed over.
