To train the guinea fowl to live up off the ground and away from the chicken coop, we have caged 5 of the guineas in this short term coop on top of the kiwi fruit pergola (with an indoor area and an outdoor area, with good wind shelter). The other 2 escaped during the transfer. Not such a big disaster, as we would have been releasing 2 of them next week anyway. Theory is that they will stay close by, due to the strong guinea flocking instinct. Then you release one more each week. By the time they are all released, they will have decided that this is the place to hang out. We have food and water both inside and outside the coop. The entire coop was built by our marvellous WWOOFer Richard!
