Hummel, Hummel - Mors, Mors

Sculpture of the Hamburg original Hans Hummel, a water carrier in Hamburg's Neustadt district. According to legend, he was often teased by children who taunted him with ‘Hummel, Hummel’, to which he replied with ‘Mors, Mors’. This is a short form of the Low German saying ‘Klei mi an'n Mors’ (‘Kiss my arse’).
