Carpobrotus rossii
The Karkalla is a perennial thick-leaf plant that tolerates salt winds and drought well. Originally native to the coasts of South Australia, it was also planted in places on the Mediterranean Sea to stabilise the coasts, as here at Cap d'Antibes (Mediterranean coast, France).
~~~~~
Die Karkalla ist ein mehrjähriges Dickblattgewächs, das Salzwinde und Trockenheit gut verträgt. Ursprünglich an den Küsten Südaustraliens beheimatet, wurde sie stellenweise auch am Mittelmeer zur Stabilisierung der Küsten angepflanzt, so wie hier am Cap d'Antibes (Mittelmeerküste, Frankreich).
