Durham Classic Vehicle Show 2011
Just a few photos taken at the inaugural Durham Classic Vehicle Show, which took place in August, 2011.
The show was held at Witton Castle on the outskirts of Bishop Auckland and staged by Mark Woodward Classic Events.
I'm afraid there aren't as many in this set as some of my others, but that's because I had company an didn't want to be too antisocial.
Anyway, hope you enjoy what I did take on … (read more)

1987 VW Scirocco GT - E48 GRE

Okay, time to start another album. This time it's the Durham Classic Vehicle Show, which took place at Witton Castle, County Durham in 2011.
2005 Dodge Ram SRT-10 - V11 PYR
Perhaps not quite what you expect to see at a classic car show, especially in the UK. Big, brash, bold (some may say ugly) and totally in your face it may be, but I liked it.
The Dodge Ram SRT-10 was produced by Dodge in limited numbers. It was introduced in January 2002, but was not put into production until 2004. Unlike previous Ram trucks, the SRT-10 was built solely for the purpose of speed and thanks to its 8.3 litre Viper V10 engine it certainly can deliver.
1984 VW Scirocco Mk2 GTI - A420 XLG
For those that are perhaps tired of looking at shots of my own Scirocco, here's a couple of shots of another from the North East of England.
This one features the much rarer BBS body kit, which I much adore. If you ever come across one of these kits for sale please let me know.

1969 Jaguar E-Type - VVK 143G
Seems every time a magazine or a newspaper runs a poll of the world's most beautiful and desirable cars, the E-Type comes top ... just can't understand it myself!
1962 Jaguar MkII - HD 129
If the E-Type is a bit too racy for you, then how about this rather more sedate 3.4 Litre MkII, also from the Sixties?
1968 Hillman Hunter - NCR 115F
I have a real soft spot for these cars in general and this one in particular as my Dad had a white one in the late Seventies.
1987 Ford Capri 280 Mk3 - D900 BLY
The Ford Capri 280 was perhaps the ultimate Capri and is much sought after today.
When you see one this good you can understand why and that's before you've even got behind the steering wheel.
1956 Chevrolet GMC Bel Air - 157 YUB
Seen this a few times and loved it, so I was really pleased at the end of this event to get a shot of it sat all alone.
And it's for sale ... if only!
Dogs At Car Shows

I guess if you've got a little car you're going to get a little dog, but that doesn't mean it can't be cute!
People At Car Shows
2000 Westfield Kit Car - Y847 EHN
These are fabulous little cars to look at, but sadly I've never experienced what it's like to drive one.
2003 Morgan 4/4 - GTN 200
Yes, I know it's red, but even so I just can't quite take to this long-bodied Morgan. Each to their own I guess!
1954 Triumph TR2 - GEF 39
The Triumph TR2 is a sports car that was produced by the Standard Motor Company in the United Kingdom, between 1953 and 1955.
1979 Lotus Esprit - DJU 159T
Completing the red theme, at least for the moment, is this stunning Lotus built in 1979. Great cars to look at, but I doubt I could fit into one!
1967 Bedford CA Van - EJP 174F
The Bedford CA was a distinctive pug-nosed light commercial vehicle produced between 1952 and 1969 by Vauxhall Motors subsidiary Bedford Vehicles, in Luton, United Kingdom.
It was manufactured in short-wheelbase and long-wheelbase forms, each form available in either a 10–12 cwt or a 15 cwt version.
Generally it was supplied as a light delivery van with sliding doors, but it was also available as a chassis with cowl upon which specialist bodywork could be added.

1990 VW Scirocco Mk2 GT - G700 ALC
1984 VW Scirocco Mk2 Storm - XIA 9754
Another from the Scirocco Register, this time a Storm.
The Mk2 Storm was available in 1984 in the UK only in either Cosmos blue or Havanna brown metallic. It was the first Scirocco to have the full colour coded body kit and large tailgate spoiler.
Numbers were strictly limited to 600 cars. 300 blue, 300 brown.
Probably worth pointing out that the headlights on this one are off a GTI model. When it came out of the factory the headlamps would have been the same as feature on my own GT model.
