Great photo and car! Love it! It is too bad the little boy didn't turn around and look at you! I can't tell you the year, but that's an Austin badge on the radiator. I'd guess early 1920s though. Something like an Austin 12 maybe?

Glad you like it Norm and you're right about the little boy, but I'm afraid he was more interested in the car!

As for the logo, thanks for that Norm. I knew it looked familiar, but I just couldn't remember what it was ... now all I need to do is pin down the model! :)

Well hunted down Phil, that is indeed the same car ... can't believe you found it with so little of the plate showing.

So, Norm has established it is an Austin (which I should have known - duh), while you've supplied the registration plate and the DVLA have shown it to be manufactured in 1927.

The model though I'm still not sure of. I know the person who took the photo you linked to called it a Seven, but it was too big to be a Seven. So I reckon it might be a Twenty, but the smaller engine would suggest it might be a Twelve, which was like a scaled down Twenty.

Never mind, we're getting there folks! :)

Yes ... I thought it was too big for a seven and too plain for a sixteen. All the photos I found in the late 1920s has the Austin script on the radiator shell ... which is why I went with the early 1920s. I suppose it could be a 1927 with an earlier shell I suppose.
