Excellent poem of Daniel Faria.. who died so young !
He also wrote this amazingly beautiful and mystic verse :
“I walk a little above the ground
In that place where birds
Are usually hit”.

All our human fragility encapsulated in a few extraordinary words..

But I must say that one my favourite poem amongst others, on the theme of "eyes" has remained :
Les yeux d'Elsa; by Aragon :

Tes yeux sont si profonds qu'en me penchant pour boire
J'ai vu tous les soleils y venir se mirer
S'y jeter à mourir tous les désespérés

I can't say that a poem is better than other cause my emotional status as a reader at any moment isn't constant. But I agree with you when you say that the Aragon poem "might be" your favourite on "eyes".
