She sang in the premiere of the opera ‘’Sulamith’’ by Paul von Klenau in 1913 In 1913 she alternated at Covent Garden in the première of "Des Rosenkavaliers" by Strauss with Margarethe Siems in the part of the Marschallin and sang also in the première of the opera "Oberst Chabert" by Hermann Wolfgang von Waltershausen..Made guest appearances in Amsterdam , Berlin , Frankfurt a. M. , Zurich , Brussels and in Oslo . Later she worked as a singing teacher in Munich .Roles included Chrysothemis in ‘’Elektra’’ by Strauss , Elsa in ‘’Lohengrin’’, Gutrune in "Götterdämmerung", Elisabeth and Venus in ‘’Tannhäuser’’ all by Wagner ,Tosca in “ Tosca” by Puccini and Aida in “Aida” by Verdi .

Her voice teacher since age thirteen had been Marie Maria von Dreger Loewe-Destinn, and the young singer began using her teacher's surname as a tribute.
Debut 19 July 1898 at the Berlin Court Opera as Santuzza in "Cavalleria Rusticana" .London debut at Covent Garden's Royal Opera House on 2 May 1904, as Donna Anna in Don Giovanni. She appeared there in several operas for the next two seasons, including the London premiere of Madama Butterfly with Caruso. Her Metropolitan Opera debut came in 1908 with an acclaimed performance of Aida, she created the role of Minnie in the premiere of Puccini's La fanciulla del West, again opposite Caruso, While she was highly successful in the lighter roles of Wagner's operas, her voice,excelled in the French part of Carmen, in which she was said to rival Calvé, and in the Italian roles of Aida, Madama Butterfly and Leonora (in Il trovatore).

He also sang at monte Carlo , Warsaw , Helsinki,Berlin and Paris.His farewell was in 1933 at the Bolshoi he was at one time Director of the Bolshoi and later taught at Stanislvsky’s opera studio. After singing in Brussels in 1914, she made her début at the Opéra-comique on 13 February 1916 in “ Lakmé” by Delibes. She went on to create roles in Louis Aubert's La forêt bleue “ (Red Riding Hood )(French premiere), Graziella (title role), Marcel Samuel-Rousseau's” Le Hulla “ (Dilara), Raoul Laparra's “Le joueur de viole” (the young girl), Fauré's “Masques et Bergamasques” Charles-Henri Maréchal's “Ping-Sin” (title role) and Sylvio Lazzari's “Le sauteriot” (Orti).
Her repertoire at the Opéra-Comique also included Rosina (The Barber of Seville), Micaëla (Carmen), Olympia (Les contes d'Hoffmann), Melisande (Pelléas et Mélisande), Mireille, Rosenn (Le roi d'Ys), Minka (Le roi malgré lui) and Zaire (Les Indes galantes).[2]
Appeared at the Paris Opera in 1931 in the first performance of Virginie by Alfred Bruneau, later singing Sophie in “Der Rosenkavalier” and Rosine in “The Barber of Seville” (both in French). She also sang in Amsterdam, La Scala and in Spain and north Africa.
She retired in 1940 and devoted herself to teaching.
