Yes, Armando. If I could find one I’m sure I could put this back together. Can you send me one?

Thanks, Ulrich, but if I focus on the padlock it all seems to move around.

Well I, for one, wouldn't want the job of making a working, practical unit out of this lot! But a fascinating image!

Yes, I think it’s too late for that.

a great lesson on how to reverse the entropy of the useful bits box

[Edit: it really is an engrossing image, I've spent about the last 10minutes enjoying this full size]

Reversing the entropy is good, or taking the entropy in a different way.
I enjoyed finding these, though they weren’t collected by me. As you say, Andy, the cornucopia of different forms is mesmerising.

loving this! i wish all my items were on display like that, then my junk drawer would be a happy place.

just read your comment that you made this - did you only lay them out for the photo, or did you glue things down? so creative!

Put them all together in a photograph! These were laid out on a concrete floor; they’re all back now in dusty tins on dust filled shelves.

That's incredible! Do you use them for something other than photographs sometimes?

A friend of mine did a grouping of ephemera from her late father's junk drawer. Pieces of memory all put together and glued onto a backing and framed. She did 3 of them so she could give 2 to her siblings.

But sometimes objects like these are nice to hold in one's hand!

No, Laura, all these are borrowed objects, though I do think they make a compound portrait of myself and the other person...and the viewer too, even, as they interpret what they see...or don’t.
Yes, I think there’s a physical, sculptural aspect for the maker, feeling the weights, shapes and intricate forms. Those collages sound like great, loving gifts.
