WP2061 WPG - QUEEN VICTORIA MONUMENT
POSTCARD
Date: Not evident. Unposted
Publisher / Photographer: Russell Lang & Co.
Notation: The message on th back is interesting to postcard collectors. It reads; "Dear Harriet are you making a leather cushion? I have given up the idea of making a silk PC one as now only seams able to get me the right kind of cards. I am sending you one leather one and will send you some more if you wish. I do not use the leather ones so first send me (??) Alice"
I hadn't heard of this before, but apparently Harriet was stitching together leather postcards (popular around 1905-06) to make cushions - while Alice was having some difficulty as she tried to do the same with silk postcards, also popular at that time.
