Thanks a lot, Amelia! Lol, don't ever call them "pony" when an Icelander is near, they are Icelandiic horses:-) And they are a very hardy breed! No other horses are allowed into the country and when one is exported it isn't allowd back in.

Wie schön - ich mag Islandpferde sehr!
Als Jugendliche bin ich auf einem Bauernhof, auf dem auch Islandpferde gehalten wurden, geritten. Und bei unserer letzten Hurtigroutentour habe ich den Ausflug "Lofoten per Pferd" (auch auf einem Islandpferd) mitgemacht. War schon ein besonderes Erlebnis, nach über 30 Jahren mal wieder auf einem Pferd zu sitzen!

Herzlichen Dank, Wiebke! In Island kannst du mehrtägige Reittouren quer durchs Hochland buchen, die Pferde hier haben sicher auch zu so einer Tour gehört. Da laufen immer viele Ersatzpferde mit und es wird regelmäßig gewechselt.
