Danke, poly! Nein, ich habe immer noch kein Smartphone. Die App funzt so in etwa, es wurden schon diverse Fehler behoben. Aber da alles anonymisiert ist, nicht auf einem zentralen Server landet und man auch eine Infektion nur freiwillig und anonym hochlädt, ist es natürlich nicht hundertprozentig- aber besser als nichts.

irgendwie funktioniert sie auch im Ausland, abeitet mit anderen Löndern zusammen las ich neulich, hab es mir aber nicht gemerkt

Ja gell, Ausland ist für uns gerade eh nicht angesagt....

Vor allem die Schweiz nicht! Wir habens grad gar nicht mehr im Griff! ;-]

Wir vielerorts auch nicht mehr.... Wenn sich Infektionsketten nicht mehr nachverfolgen lassen, wird's übel. Es trifft inzwischen wieder die Altersheime und die Intensivstationen füllen sich.

Wenn denn die App besser funktionieren würde als NINA, die offizielle Warn-App des Landes. Ich warte bis heute auf die offizielle Warnung vom großen offiziellen Bundeswarntag - und das war vor über sechs Wochen... Aber das ist für den Staat halt alles Neuland - genau wie dieses Interdings, wo einfach jeder so seine Meinung schreiben kann... ;-)

Danke vielmals, Tanja! Ich hab's deswegen nicht, weil ich kein smartes Fon habe....Aber dafür halte ich mich an den Rest. Bei uns hat's leider viele "Querdenker", auch ein kleiner, radikaler Teil der Anthropopos und Antivaxxer mischt da mit und davon gibt es im Südwesten traditionell viele.

Obrigada, Isabel! Here the courts react promptly when Corona- decrees go too far. So in our state it's masks outside only when no distance can be kept. I try to avoid the town centre and when I have to go there I wear an FFP2/N95 mask to protect myself because quite a few don't care.

Fascinating to read the exchanges. I always think Europeans are smarter/more educated/more reasonable than Americans, but apparently, there are just as many Covidiots on your end as there are in the US. It's really sad, because this spread could have been so easily prevented, with just a bit more rationality and consideration of others. I still don't get the resistance to wearing a mask -- a small inconvenience which actually makes freedom possible while staying safe. But for some, it's apparently a symbol of something else.

Thanks a lot, Sarah! Here in Germany the covidiots are a minority but some are very vocal and often seem to dominate the debate. Added to this is the fact that certain far right circles use Covid for their own ends, anything to destabilize democracy (sound familiar?).
They complain about their human rights being infringed by mask wearing but don't see that in a totalitarian state (which we are supposedly turning into) they would never have been allowed to demonstrate!
The other thoughtless covidiots are probably the result of prevention paradox- we have been too successful in curbing the first wave and people couldn't see the use of restrictions when infection numbers were down. Now we start to see better compliance again, I hope it will be enough...

Ein verspätetes HFF

I am born in this country under totalitarism, I am part of those who fought for democracy and paid a high price for it.
Our actual prime minister is a sensible rational man who has been appealing to people to be careful, wear masks when social distancing could not be kept, etc.
Because of covidiots now it is mandatory, and other restrictions are coming up.
Because of them and their irresponsible attitude our freedom is so reduced that we cannot talk about freedom any longer.
And covidiots gather in public events without masks or any social distancing to claim their right to this very freedom which they compromise with their claim...
In my two areas there are no cases, not yet one since the beginning of this. The summer holidays was a question mark, but luckily no cases.
Nobody likes wearing this thing covering the face, it is uncomfortable and scary. Nobody is happy with social distancing, the gel on the hands, the temperature mesure ... but if we don't do our part it is going to be worse, and if covidiots keep acting as they do I am afraid we won't get our democratic freedom back so soon.

What you describe is exactly the same that's happening here. They are invoking their human rights to do as they like and don't want to see that human rights also involve not violating other people's human rights...Many don't even realize that they are being instrumentalized by the far right who see this as a chance to destabilize democracy.
Here the covidiots always cite the fact that we still have thousands of free intensive care beds. What they forget is that doctors say the beds may be there but not the staff! Not enough doctors and nurses anyway and ever larger numbers themselves getting infected or having to quarantine...If patient numbers keep rising like at the moment there won't be enough capacity for stroke, heart or cancer patients in a few weeks time and they'll have to start triage.
