What you describe is exactly the same that's happening here. They are invoking their human rights to do as they like and don't want to see that human rights also involve not violating other people's human rights...Many don't even realize that they are being instrumentalized by the far right who see this as a chance to destabilize democracy.
Here the covidiots always cite the fact that we still have thousands of free intensive care beds. What they forget is that doctors say the beds may be there but not the staff! Not enough doctors and nurses anyway and ever larger numbers themselves getting infected or having to quarantine...If patient numbers keep rising like at the moment there won't be enough capacity for stroke, heart or cancer patients in a few weeks time and they'll have to start triage.
