A lovely project. Sfumato? Da Vinci defined it as : "without lines or borders, in the manner of smoke or beyond the focus plane". I found that word by chance as I looked at descriptions of the Mona Lisa. Doris! Her eyes, her smile, the perfect symmetry of her face...the perfect mystery.

Thank you, Steve, for your compliment and contribution, especially the new word (new to us, that is). Doris can be a supernumerary Gioconda for our times. I think she might have liked that. This particular photograph of her - of which my search for the original print has been fruitless - probably catches her at a perfect moment. You don't get many of those to the pound.
