A Woman I Didn't Meet at Castlerigg Stone Circle

A Woman I Didn't Meet at Castlerigg Stone Circle
She was posing for a companion who was using an old Olympus film SLR camera (I tend to notice that kind of detail). She posed so exuberantly I thought it would be practically a crime against photography not to record the moment myself. I had only a 35mm lens that day, being intent on the landscape, and a telephoto would have been better for this portrait. It is cropped quite heavily to frame the woman to best advantage.
Nikon D50 + Nikkor AF-S 35mm f/1.8 DX G lens.

John FitzGerald has particularly liked this photo

Her flamboyance contrasts well with the pastoral serenity and solid grandeur of the background.

Possibly she was a bit hyper due to an excess of E numbers in her ice cream. In England, pastoral serenity is nearly always accompanied by a diesel-belching ice cream van. Not so much in Scotland, which is curious given their dietary preferences.
