Photographed with an AF-S DX Nikkor 35mm f/1.8G lens on a Nikon D50. The D50 is noted for producing highly saturated JPGs needing little, if any, tweaking with software. The 35mm f/1.8G lens is well regarded as an equivalent to the 50mm fast lens which used to come routinely with a new camera before mid-range zoom lenses became more popular in the 1980s. Whilst the attraction of zoom lenses is not hard to see, it is only when you look at the fidelity and contrast achievable with a decent prime lens that you realise the extent of their superiority.
