Cambronne-lès-Clermont - Saint-Étienne
A document from 1136 lists an existing church in "Camboriacum" as property of the Benedictinian nunnery in Saint Paul (50kms northwest). Many parts of this Romanesque church can still be found in the structure, seen here. From the mid of the 12th century the church got enlarged and widened. The building process went on for about 80 years. "Saint-Étienne" was consecrated in 1239 - and since then has not changed much.
