Kansas City Power and Light - River Bend, MO
When I was little, I always wondered why there was this odd crossarm out of the bunch. That was before I even knew what a 34.5kv was, or even saw a active one in person.
One of the remaining pieces of prove that a 33kv once ran the landscape along MO HWY 291. Of course, the line is now running at 12.47kv-13.8kv. Once upon time, there was a KCP&L 69kv over 33kv or 34.5kv Line that ran from the Liberty Area (Missouri Public Service Area), to Independence/Sugar Creek Area. It hoped on the Liberty Bend Bridge, once it hoped off heading south, I have no idea where it goes from there. I have pictures of it from the 1920-1940's on the Bridge and going along what was once called the "71 Bypass", now 291 HWY.
