Passion Flower Fruit

Passion Flower Fruit
I spotted this plant and the rather grotty looking lone fruit hanging over the top of a wall of a house in Emsworth, Hampshire. I thought at first it was Quince, but the shape and leaves seem wrong for that. After Googling some images I think it may be a Yellow Passion Fruit ??

Edit : ID confirmed as a Passion Flower fruit. Thanks to Alby & Rosa :-)

I have seen these in a near neighbour's garden Keith, and it looks like the fruit from the passionflower. I agree with the above advice...don't eat it! You haven't caught it at its best as a fruit but as a picture it's great! Well spotted, and I like the background bokeh.

It certainly is a passion plant, of which there are many varieties with many different fruits. Lots of different varieties grow here, many being edible, but I hesitate to advise on the toxicity or otherwise. That said, it does look like what we call a banana passion fruit here.
