Federation Lightweight 2A, from 1937 with a 125 Villiers 2-stroke engine.

Built by the Co-operative Wholesale Society [CWS] at their Federal Works, Tyseley, Birmingham. It was their answer to commuting after the Great Depression of the 1930s. At £25 it was keenly priced [as a co-op member, you would have got your divi on it] and whilst the top speed was only 40mph it was extremely economical to operate.

Taken In memory of my late father - who was heavily committed to the co-operative movement.
