T4 aka Tunnel Mawr - the longest tunnel at 924 ft [280m] and curved.
Looking south, so this is the northern portal. Note the substantial retaining wall and the little "layby" - another good place for a sit & a snack.
Walking through this wasn't especially pleasant if you didn't like dark holes ...

Since this section was reopened to rail traffic in 2009, this long and unvented tunnel has required special care by the locomotive drivers.
The approach to the southern end is over a speed restricted crossing and through a notoriously wet cutting. Drivers need to be sure that they can complete the tunnel passage before they begin ... there are special operating procedures if a train fails in this tunnel, to ensure no-one gets suffocated by smoke ...
