Dating from 1189, Ye Olde Trip to Jerusalem claims to be the oldest pub in England. It sits at the bottom of the Bunter Sandstone (in old money) cliff with Nottingham Castle on top.

HFF & have a great weekend.

Nautilus, Erhard Bernstein, Nouchetdu38, Mecklenburg-Foto (Reinhard L.) and 18 other people have particularly liked this photo

A nice place to drink a beer outside. But inside it is certainly also interesting, I think.

It might be true : the inn claims to have been established in 1189! Water has been flowing under the bridge since then;-)) HFF Peter.

Hi Pete
A very nice picture, which I like very much!
At first sight it looked very much like Knaresborough!
But.... A quick Google search produced 46 more claiming to be the oldest!!
Still a great picture though!
Best Wishes, HFF, a nice weekend, and stay safe!!

This pub bases its claim to be from 1180 on its cellars. www.ipernity.com/doc/philsutters/26280875/in/album/510947
I wonder how much of Jerusalem is from 1189. It certainly has a more picturesque location than beside the A259, although its neighbour, Saint Mary's church is a lovely old building.
